Application Criteria |
Netball |
In Netball CCA, we train three hours per week, focusing on physical fitness, agility, ball handling skills, and team communication strategies. We incorporate student agency and reflection activities to help players develop critical thinking and decision-making abilities on court. Throughout the year, students participate in friendly matches with other schools, external competitions such as Pesta Sukan, and the National School Games, providing ample opportunities for game exposure and building confidence as competitive netball players. |
Softball |
Our Softball programme teaches students valuable skills including throwing, catching, hitting, and base running while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship values. Students will have opportunities to represent the school in the annual National School Games and participate in friendly games or carnival tournaments with other school teams. Through structured training and competitive play, students develop both technical abilities and teamwork skills essential for success in this bat-and-ball sport. |
Choir |
Our Choir programme offers students a rich and immersive choral experience, encompassing rigorous vocal training, music theory, and performance opportunities at both school and national levels. Students will be guided by experienced instructor, and will have the opportunity to represent the school at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation, inter-school competitions, and community concerts. Beyond performance, students are nurtured to develop discipline, ensemble values, and a lifelong appreciation for the choral arts. |
Concert Band |
Students in the Juying Symphonic Band will participate in a structured music training programme that develops both musical skills and performance confidence. Members will have opportunities to perform at external events and represent the school at major platforms such as the biennial Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation, experiencing performance in professional concert hall settings. Beyond school performances, members may also participate in external showcases, such as performances at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and receive professional training and mentorship from certified band instructors, including experienced musicians from the SAF Band. |
Chinese Dance (Cultural Dance) |
Our Cultural Dance programme offers a vibrant space where students can master traditional techniques while exploring modern fusion styles under the guidance of a classically trained Chinese Dance instructor. We also expose our dancers to other ethnic dance forms through dance education. Students will have opportunities to perform at school events, competitions and cultural showcases, developing both technical skills and artistic expression. Above all, students will join a supportive 'dance family' that prioritises mentorship, cultural appreciation and shared growth. |
Modern Dance (Hip-Hop) |
Students in our Modern Dance (Hip-Hop) CCA can look forward to a dynamic training programme that builds their dance technique, musicality, and performance confidence. They will have opportunities to perform at school events, participate in competitions, and showcase their talents on stage, developing both individual skills and stage presence. Students may also take on leadership roles, learn choreography, and collaborate with peers, developing teamwork and a strong sense of discipline through the art of dance. |
English Drama (Speech & Drama) |
Speech & Drama trains and equips students with oracy and dramatisation skills through comprehensive programmes that develop both performance and technical abilities. Students are given opportunities to brainstorm storylines, role-play various characters, and engage in purposeful warm-up and bonding activities that build confidence and creativity. Students will also be trained in technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and backstage crew work, providing a well-rounded theatre education experience. |
Communication (ALP) |
Students in our Applied Learning Programme (ALP) will participate in a specially curated adaptive communication training programme designed to develop confident and effective speakers. They will have opportunities to emcee major school events, represent the school in nationwide competitions, and serve as guides during Juying Discovery Day. Beyond the school, students will enjoy ambassadorship opportunities at Gardens by the Bay and participate in mentorship sessions with student leaders from other schools. |
